| What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient healing method involving gentle touch which helps us
restore balance in our life. Reiki promotes a sense of well being by
allowing our body/mind/spirit to come to a place of deep relaxation where
our natural capacity to heal is revitalized.
The practice of Reiki was founded by Japanese healer, Mikao Usui in the early 1900’s.
Reiki, which simply stated means
universal life force energy, is easy to learn and use. Reiki is given by
the gentle laying-on of hands in a systematic set of positions. The Reiki
practitioner acts as a conduit for the energy, which flows through them to
the client. A Reiki session can help to strengthen our nervous system,
calm our minds, relieve stress and diminish the tension & discomfort in
our bodies. It is a wonderful complement to other healing methods, both
traditional and alternative. Reiki helps us to become more responsible for
the well-being of our life and allows us to participate more fully in our
own healing process. |
